NSCDC sends 80 to Southern Kaduna on peace mission

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSDC) has deployed 80 armed person­nel in the troubled South­ern Kaduna to serve in the Joint Security Taskforce, code named “Operation Safe Haven”.

The officers’ mission is to work for the return of per­manent peace to the area so that socio-economic activi­ties can resume in the zone in full.

The deployment is also to reinforce unarmed NSCDC personnel in all the 8th Di­visions under Area C with headquarters in Kafanchan as well as to strengthen the presence of military, the police and other agencies already drafted to the area to restore peace in South­ern Kaduna.

Addressing the person­nel comprising officers and men, the State Comman­dant, Alhaji Modu Bunu, urged them to maintain high discipline while per­forming the national as­signment.
